The Get Up Kids Lyrics
Overdue Lyrics
Matt is on a FARP tonight. I was supposed to hang out with Tiffy, but she wasn’t feeling so hot. I bought some great, healthy food today at the commissary but I’m still fighting the overwhelming urge to get Popeye’s chicken. Nothing else going on so enjoy a random survey.
A – Attached or Single? Attached. Sadly, Matt will be deployed for our 5th wedding anniversary.
B – Best Friend? It’s kind of cliché but I have to say Matt. I wish that I had that one amazing girlfriend (not to say I’m not working on it), but I’m happy that there isn’t anything Matt doesn’t know about me, that he is always there for me when I need him, and that he will always keep my secrets.
C – Cake or pie? Really? You want me to choose? Okay, fine. Pie. I can put whipped cream on pie, but damnit I am really craving a chocolate cupcake with white frosting and colorful sprinkles. Grrr. Now I’m going to have to bake something.
D – Day of choice? Saturday. So, what? Everyone likes Saturday. It’s the one day that you really get to pick what you want to do. Sleep in? Eat chocolate for breakfast? Get up at the butt crack of dawn for a run? Stay in your PJ’s all day? Whatever you want. Sundays are for church and cleaning the house and wishing that you didn’t have to do whatever it is you’re required to do on Mondays.
E – Essential item? My laptop. I would probably kill someone if they tried to take it away from me. Granted, it isn’t my security blanket but there is a level of security knowing that it will be waiting for me where I left it. After all it’s been my only lifeline to the outside world since we moved to England. Good ol’ Lappy.
F – Favorite color? I love red these days. It’s an attention grabbing color, something that says “Hey Fucker, look at ME!” And that really just encompasses my personality sometimes.
G – Gummy bears or worms? Bears. But after finding out how long it takes to digest foods with gelatin in them I think I’ll stick to fresh fruits.
H – Hometown? I’m from Athol, Idaho. Yes, hold your tongue and say “asshole” and that is the name of the town I grew up in. Ugh. My parents own 20 acres within the zip code so I went to Athol Elementary. Ugh again. I still remember when they painted the school baby shit brown..or was it green. I guess I don’t remember that well.
I – Favorite indulgence? Jamba…mmmmm. I am so looking forward to going back to Idaho just for those. I will totally drive to Post Falls to get a Razzmatazz in the middle of December then I’ll drive back home in the snow with my heated seats on.
J – January or July? Huh, funny that both of those months are significant for Matt and I. Matt and I feel in love on the 4th of July 2003 and were married on New Year’s Day 2004. I’m going to pick July though. It’s warm and there are fireworks and you can go boating. Yeah, July.
K – Kids? Dude! I’ve been dying from Baby Fever the past few weeks. Matt and I promised that we wouldn’t have kids until we move back to the states. Now that we’re for sure being stationed to Fairchild AFB next year, there is more incentive to keep the promise. I get so excited thinking about both of our families being in the hospital while I give birth to the first grandchild. It will be really wonderful only having to drive an hour to visit the grandparents. But, we still have at least another year.
L – Life isn’t complete without… music. I played the flute in high school and have a secret fantasy of playing in a symphony and recording the score for some blockbuster film. I feel very much like Lois Griffin most days. The military squashed most my chances. I still play, but most of my obsession with music has something to do with my iPod these days.
M – Marriage date? January 1, 2004.
N – Number of siblings? 1 brother-in-law and 1 sister-in-law. I was a very happy only child. It has been nice to instantly gain a little sister through Matt. Caitlyn is a really awesome chick. I can’t wait to do fun sister stuff with her while I’m back.
O – Oranges or Apples? Apples. For some reason I’ve always liked Fuji. When I was younger I was a sucker for Granny Smith, but I haven’t had one of those in ages. That’s something I should add to my list of things for while I’m back in the states.
P – Phobias? I’m extremely scared of being abandoned. I think it’s because my parents would play this very cruel trick on me where they would leave me in front of a store and just drive off. Of course they would eventually come back, usually they would drive around the block and let me back in the car. My dad also had issues with being on time or just remembering to pick me up from school. Zombies also scare the living crap out of me. Some of my worst nightmares have involved catching Matt cheating on me and then having my face eaten off by the undead.
Q – Quotes? “Immature love says ‘I love you because I need you.’ Mature love says ‘I need you because I love you.’” ~Erich Fromm
R – Reasons to smile? I’m picking up my brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee in a month! I’m married to the best guy ever. Brad Pitt seriously doesn’t hold a candle to my Matt!
S – Season of choice? Fall. I love the colors and the crispness in the air.
T – Tag 5 people: Let’s see…Mom, Ally, & Scarlett because I’m fairly sure you’re all reading. How about some of you lurkers do this and post me a link in my comments? I’d love to know who some of you quiet people are. I mean my blog stats say I’m getting 30+ hits each time I post.
U – Unknown fact about me? There really isn’t much. I’m kind of an open book. How about that I was born premature? With jaundice? And ankyloglossia. Oh, and I’m allergic to penicillin. I have no idea what it does to me, so please don’t try injecting me to find out if I die or not.
V – Vegetable? Onions. Matt and I put them in everything. One of my favorite side dishes is stir fried bell peppers and onions in Kraft Zesty Italian dressing. Mmmm.
W – Worst habit? I’ve noticed that I’m getting a little too good at ignoring things that bother me to the point of disaster. While we were back home in June I suppressed the fact that at we had to leave at the end of the month so well that we didn’t pack until the very last minute and then I couldn’t deal with having to say goodbye so I threw a total fit and had a meltdown at the worst possible moment. I also bite my nails sometimes, but not as bad now as when I was a teenager.
X – X-ray or Ultrasound? Uh, I’m not really sure how I should respond to this. Apparently there just aren’t enough X words for a good survey.
Y – Your favorite food? Well, I used to be in love with Olive Garden, but after not dining there for 3 years and then having a bad experience upon my return I refuse to comment. Chinese is pretty great. I mean, oh P.F. Chang’s how I love thee…and Panda Express. But then there’s the beauty of king crab legs with the meat soaked in butter. I am so hungry now! There is no way I’m going to keep myself from Popeye’s.
Z – Zodiac sign? Aquarius. Strong willed, stubborn, opinionated, idealistic, tolerant, patriotic, aloof, intuitive, free-spirited/rebellious, outspoken, individualistic, intelligent, trend setting, leader…yup sounds like me.

YEA for cupcakes with sprinkles and yea for the color red! Olive Garden – THATS WHAT I”M TALKIN ABOUT! I’m more of a gummy worms girl, but we’ll let that slide! oooo – you tagged me, i didn’t see that – ok, i’ll do the survey!! hehehe. Keep your chin up, girl!
I think you must be smoking crack again. We never left you in front of a store and drove off. Is this like the Disneyland episode you can’t remember?
